The following blog post was written by Catherine Moede, an AOB home office team member and Denver transplant who spends countless hours outside. She enjoys running, mountain climbing and playing rugby with Black Ice Rugby here in Denver. Catherine has been getting a series of chemical peels to help correct some of her sun damage and will writing about her experience at AOB Med Spa throughout the process! This week Catherine is writing about her first HydraFacial treatment that included a Vortex-Peel.
I have seen an incredible transformation in my skin so far over the last several weeks since my first chemical peel with Shanna as part of my Peel to Reveal series. For my second treatment, I wanted to try something a little different.
AOB Med Spa recently started performing HydraFacial treatments and after hearing about them from several people I thought it would be a great next step, especially because it includes a peel in the process. A HydraFacial treatment is an effective way to improve your overall skin health but it can also assist in treating specific skincare concerns like fine lines and wrinkles, firmness, texture, tone, and hyper-pigmentation to name a few. The treatment itself takes the client through multiple steps including cleansing, exfoliation and extractions to remove impurities and dead skin cells while at the same time replenishing nutrients. Depending on your specific skincare concerns, you can adjust the treatment to target specific problems. For this treatment, I saw Chloe at the AOB Med Spa. She walked me through what the different steps of the treatment would be and then got to work on my face! The vacuum-like tip was able to extract my facial impurities in a quick efficient manner. The treatment also includes a peel, which aided in removing any dead skin and stimulating regrowth. My peel was 7.5% Glycolic and 2% Salicylic. Chloe then infused my skin with a serum that contained antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. Antioxidants are used to revitalize and protect the skin after dead skin is removed during the first part of the treatment. Peptides assist in collagen and elastin production which help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Hyaluronic Acid is used to hydrate your skin deep beneath the surface which gives the skin a life in volume and fullness. Hyaluronic Acid is naturally produced by the body and is an important addition to include in your skincare routine to avoid losing the elasticity of your skin. It helps to keep the water in your skin, therefore helping in the transportation of nutrients to and from cells. Hydration is essential in healthy skin and is a key component of this treatment through the use of serums. The more hydrated your skin is, the easier it is for transportation of nutrients to occur and the removal of waste, which ultimately contributes to the health of your skin. Over the last several months I have tried out several treatments and I have NEVER loved something as much as this. The treatment is quick – you can be in and out within 50 minutes (usually less time) and the results are fantastic. Any blemishes that were on the surface of my skin have disappeared and I’ve had several people tell me that my skin has never looked better. Most importantly my skin feels great and has NEVER felt so smooth. This is a treatment that works well for all skin types and I highly recommend giving it a try. It is by far the single most effective skincare treatment that I have experienced to date.
